Web TimeSheet Release Notes
Version 8.10
Welcome to Version 8.10 of Web TimeSheet. These release notes provide information on:
This document also includes release information for the following QuickBooks and Microsoft Project integration managers compatible with this Web TimeSheet release:
New in Version 8.10
The following new features are included in version 8.10 of Web TimeSheet.
New in Both Editions of Web TimeSheet
50 User and 20 Employee Type user defined fields are now available in Web TimeSheet, an increase from 5 fields for each type. These fields can be used to record custom user and employee type information.
You can now specify that lines for Employee and Approver signatures display beneath the timesheet on printed copies of employee timesheets.
Functions and operators for working with dates are now available when creating custom columns in reports.
Historical user hourly cost and payroll rates are now available in reports, not just the current rate assigned for each. The rate that is in effect for the date of the timesheet entry will display. In addition, base currency versions of these fields are also available. For clarity, fields that display the current rate are renamed Current Hourly Cost or Current Hourly Payroll.
A beta version of the Web TimeSheet Scheduling module is now available for evaluation. This module allows you to schedule the times you expect employees to work, and can be used to monitor employee adherence to their schedules. Schedule users can also be allowed to pre-populate their timesheets with their scheduled hours.
New in the Project & Billing Edition
Client information fields that include address and contact information are now available as dedicated Client fields (entered when creating or editing a client), rather than as default Client user defined fields. This increases the number of Client user defined fields available for use in gathering other custom client information.
New in the Time & Attendance Edition
Users can now specify start and end times when booking partial days off. This lets approvers and supervisors know what part of the day employees will be away, rather than simply the duration of the absence. You can require users to complete start and end times before they can submit a booking.
Migration Notes
The table below outlines how existing data will be migrated for those upgrading to Version 8.10.
|
Feature |
Settings after upgrade |
|
Time Off Booking Start and End Times |
After upgrade, the Require start/end times for partial day bookings option on system preferences will be disabled, and no start or end times will be added to existing bookings, regardless of their approval status. Bookings created prior to the upgrade will not require start and end times to be added, even if the Require start/end times for partial day bookings is enabled. |
|
Client user defined fields |
Upon upgrade, data in Client user defined fields used for default contact and address information will be migrated to their equivalent dedicated Client fields. These new fields are located on the Add/Edit Client pages. Migrated Client user defined fields will become unassigned fields that can be used to gather other client-related custom information. However, a default Client user defined field will NOT be migrated if:
Disabled field and fields with a maximum length will be migrated.
Refer to the Integration Manager for QuickBooks Version 5.2.2 release notes below for information on how mappings that involve Client user defined fields will be handled.

|
Unapproved time off requests |
If upgrading from version 8.2 or earlier, unapproved time off requests that belong to an open timesheet, and that do not overlap with existing time off, will be re-created as rejected time off bookings. |

Web TimeSheet Integration Manager for QuickBooks Version 5.2.2 Release Notes
New in Version 5.2.2
The following new features are available in Version 5.2.2 of Web TimeSheet Integration Manager for QuickBooks:
Values for all newly available User and Employee Type user defined fields can be successfully transferred to and from QuickBooks via the Integration Manager.
Values for the dedicated Client address and contact information fields now available in Web TimeSheet can be transferred to and from QuickBooks via the Integration Manager.
How Client user defined field mappings will be upgraded
Since default Client user defined field values are being transferred to dedicated Client information fields in Web TimeSheet (see Migration Notes above) , some or all of your existing Client user defined field mappings may become invalid upon upgrade to this version.
If any of your Client user defined field values are affected by this change, the first time you launch a wizard that includes a mapping to or from an affected field, you will be notified. A list of all missing values will be provided in the notification so that you can update your mappings before proceeding with the transfer. This notification will continue to appear until you complete a transfer with the affected wizard.
About upgrading from the 2.x stream
If you are using the 2.x stream of Web TimeSheet Integration Manager for QuickBooks for automatic client invoice generation, you should not convert to the 5.x stream, as it does not yet include client invoice functionality.
