New in Version 8.11
The following new features are included in version 8.11 of Web TimeSheet.
Web Schedule Module
Web TimeSheet’s Web Schedule module is now available for purchase. This module allows you to schedule the times you expect employees to work, and can be used to monitor employee adherence to their schedules. Schedule users can also be allowed to pre-populate their timesheets with their scheduled hours. Web Schedule can be licensed and assigned independently of other Web TimeSheet components.
The following features of Web Schedule have been modified since its last beta release:
-
Web Schedule can now be evaluated and purchased using the Web TimeSheet account
management portal.
-
The Scheduling module can now be licensed alone, without the Time & Attendance license.
-
Changes made to the user schedule are now auto-saved (that is, saved automatically once a change is made).
-
When you publish a schedule, there is no longer an option to select particular changes to publish.
-
Schedule Manager and Schedule User default permission profiles are now available.
-
The default and sample schedule templates have been modified.
-
Invalid violations will no longer erroneously be listed.
-
Web Schedule now functions correctly in Web TimeSheet implementations using Oracle
databases.
-
The scroll bar on the User Schedules table has been improved.
-
The following functions have been removed while their usefulness is evaluated:
-
Override sets
-
Undo, redo, and revert (to last published version) functionality on the schedule edit pages
-
The following scheduling items have been renamed:
-
On the timesheet page, the Schedule Adherence Violations link is now called List Schedule Discrepancies
-
The Check Schedule Adherence permission is now called View Schedule Discrepancies on Timesheet
-
The Adherence check box is now labeled Enforce in the schedule entry pop-up window.
-
The Schedule icon in the Web TimeSheet top menu has been renamed Schedules (and has been moved to the System section)
New Time Zone Standard
The time zone standard used in Web TimeSheet has changed from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Time zone assignments will update to the new standard automatically upon upgrade.
Ensure you are using the correct time zone options when importing or updating users via the data import utility. The new options are available in the Web TimeSheet Data Import Utility User Guide, or within Web TimeSheet, in the Time Zone drop-down on the Advanced tab of the Edit/Add User page.
New Oracle Server Requirements
As of Release 8.10.0.6, Web TimeSheet’s Oracle Server version requirements have changed. If you are using Oracle 10g, version 10.2.0.4 or higher is now required. Oracle 9.2 (9.2.0.1 or higher) is still supported.
Fixed in Version 8.11
The following scheduling features have been altered in Version 8.11 of Web TimeSheet.
Fixed in both Editions
-
Upon upgrade to SQL, user authentication information is now read from the existing Web TimeSheet web.config file; this prevents an error from displaying, and prevents users from having to input this data manually. (70976)
-
If the user attempts to submit an expense sheet that is missing a Date Incurred entry, Web TimeSheet will now prompt the user to enter the missing information, rather than removing all data from the sheet. (70679)
-
If the user selects the x in the upper, right-hand corner of the Expense Receipts > Upload window after uploading an image, the image will now be uploaded successfully. (70611)
-
Addressed a performance issue involving the Timesheet Details report. (71195)
-
Default values for Employee Type and Client user defined fields are now imported, as expected, when the user imports a user defined field with no value specified via the import utility. (70669)
-
Addressed performance issue involving the Approvals pages that occurred when many items were awaiting approval. (71539)
-
Hid inapplicable Hours Per Day, Default holiday calendar, and Time Zone options in Expense-only instances. (71297, 71323, 71253)
Fixed in the Project & Billing Edition
-
Duplicate rows no longer display when the user refreshes productivity charts with hierarchy filtering enabled. (71251)
-
In the Productivity Details report, [B Amt / (B Hrs + NB Hrs)] field values are now calculated correctly; the B (Billable) hours are included in the denominator. (71758)
-
Users with productivity targets who have not entered time or time off now display in the Productivity reports; also, inconsistencies between the Productivity Summary and Productivity Details reports have been addressed. (71125)
Fixed in the Time & Attendance Edition
-
Fixed issue that caused an error to occur when generating the Timesheet Detail report if it contained timesheet and time off user defined fields that used different data types (for example, one was number type and the other was date type). (70995)
-
Overtime hours that result from time off (where the time off is included as overtime in the overtime rule) now display correctly in the User Hours Details and TimeSheet Hours with Time Off Types reports. (70951)
-
If the user attempts to submit a partial day time off booking with no hours entered, they are now prompted to enter the hours, and no error occurs. (71629)
